Last month our panties were in a bunch over news of a Boy Meets World spin-off series (tentatively) titled Girl Meets World. Danielle Fishel tweeted her possible involvement with the show (the Tweet says nothing, really; unless you re-read it after today's news), Ben Savage ran from TMZ, and it wasn't entirely clear if the two actors were officially signed on.
Now, it seems, things are official. According to VIBE (via TVLine), both Fishel and Savage have agreed to reprise their roles as Topanga Lawrence and Cory Matthews, respectively. The plot will focus on the couple's pre-teen daughter, Riley, and her experiences growing up (presumably, similar to the original show's family-friendly themes).
News of Fishel and Lawrence's casting was shared, naturally, on Twitter (the preferred method of communication for pre-teens and, let's be honest many adults), with @DisneyChannelPR first tweeting a formal statement, followed by an enthusiastic confirmation from Savage himself.
No other cast members have been reported yet, but fingers-crossed for at least a cameo appearance from Mr. Feeny (Williams Daniels is 85 years old--it's time to make this happen).
