Although she has denied recent rumors of a Kurt Cobain-inspired Broadway musical, Courtney Love appears to be the driving force behind a documentary about the life and legacy of her late husband.
According to the New York Post, documentarian Brett Morgan will direct the still-untitled project about the troubled Nirvana frontman. Morgan's latest film, the Rolling Stones rockdoc Crossfire Hurricane, will air on HBO later this month.
Love first approached Morgan about the potential project in 2007. “We’ve been trying to find the right time to put this film together and the time is now," Morgan says. "Kurt was not only an amazing songwriter and musician, he was an incredible artist and filmmaker. So we are going to do the movie sort of like a third-person autobiography — [as] if Kurt was around and making a film about his life."
Don't get too excited for the Cobain flick just yet — Morgan notes that the project won't be finished until some time in 2014.
