All the young adult movies that have been flooding cinemas for the past few years really only appeal to their target demographic. Sure, some parents and weird middle-aged folks end up enjoying the vicarious romance and adventure of pictures like Twilight and The Hunger Games, but for the most part, audiences who aren't the intended recipients of that entertainment stay home.
However, that might soon change thanks to some originality and genuine creepiness. Author Cassandra Clare's The Mortal Instruments series is coming to theaters, and the demons heroine Clary Fray (Lily Collins) can see and must defeat seem genuinely terrifying.
The first installment of the series, The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, is being released on Aug. 23, 2013. A trailer has just hit the web, so check it out below (via Film School Rejects) to get ready for the next big young adult paranormal romance thing that you might actually want to see.
