West Virginia native D-WHY has enjoyed a significant breakout this year, culminating in his free album, Don't Flatter Yourself, which arrived back in August. Among collaborations with Casey Veggies, Dot Da Genius and Boi-1da, "Ballad Of An Asshole," produced by G.O.O.D. Music's star-in-the-making Hit-Boy, was a clear standout. As it turns out, D's visuals are just as polished as his music.
In a series of clean shots, the multi-dimensional artist ("I’m not a rapper, but sometimes I like to rap," he explains) channels the arrogant energy of the song and recites his rhymes in rich, grand settings, also by the side of attractive females. There's also plenty of symbolic visual elements, which D himself explains in a Tumblr post.
