As you probably have noticed, the United States has the tendency to hold elections somewhat regularly. Yesterday was the culmination of the country's presidential race, and Barack Obama came out on top, defeating Republican candidate Mitt Romney. Other winners included same-sex marriage in Maine and Washington state, as well a number of green lights for marijuana use both medical and recreational.
Of course, this isn't Utopia yet, President Obama reminded the crowd before him during his victory speech. With a foot towards the future, the president talked of moving forward as a country and told supporters that their help in re-electing him was essential.
And while Obama promised that "the best is yet to come," his opponent had no choice but to concede. Romney thanked everyone from his VP running mate Paul Ryan, to his family to all the campaign volunteers, saying, "Like so many of you, Paul and I have left everything on the field.
