"Young, Black and Rich" is the mantra for MC Sulaiman and producer Thelonious Martin—both of the surging Chicago hip-hop movement Treated Crew. While Sulaiman speaks directly to his youthful peers through his playful bars on this new track ("Tossed a couple cops now its pigs flying"), Martin's plush production resonates with classical maturity. It may be a juxtaposition of sorts, but the two compliment each other perfectly with their respective crafts.
"Young, Black and Rich" comes as an early taste of Sulaiman and Thelonious' forthcoming Righteous & Ratchet EP, which we suddenly can't wait for.
