DIIV's KEXP performance has slowly been trickling out. The live set that was recorded during KEXP’s CMJ showcase at the Union Square Ballroom has been released song by song, track by track and performance by performance. But now you can watch harmonious brand of rock. Their frolicking guitar lines and strong bass and percussion filled up the fancy venue quite nicely. And ending their set with their single “Doused” must’ve had made a lot of ears happy that night. And with guitarist/vocalist Zachary Cole Smith sporting a Kurt Cobain-esque post-Bean haircut and the fronting trio all holding Fenders, you’d almost swear Nirvana had gone melodic.
