Yeezy has taken over the charts, the headlines, and now it looks like he is coming for the silver screen. Celebrated American novelist and screenwriter Bret Easton Ellis spilled the beans today that he has been working with Kanye on a film project for the last "seven or eight months."
While the details of the project are still sparse, whatever these two artists put together is bound to have a flair for the dramatic. Kanye is hardly known for pulling his punches and Ellis is, after all, the same guy who brought you American Psycho.
When pushed for more information in an interview with Vice, Ellis responded, "It’s in Kanye Land, and that’s subject to a whole other time frame. He came and asked me to write the film. I didn’t want to at first. Then I listened to Yeezus. It was early summer last year and I was driving in my car. He’d given me an advance copy, and I thought, regardless of whether I’m right for this project, I want to work with whoever made this. So fuck it, I said yes."
This is not the first time that West and Ellis have worked together. Last year, Ye' appeared as a guest on Ellis' podcast and contributed music to the screenwriter's film, The Canyons. The two also worked together on a spoof of American Psycho, which you can watch below.
