Just look at them. They are identical. If ever a documentary was made about The Red Hot Chili Peppers, there is no question who would be cast to play drummer Chad Smith's role.
In a recent Reddit AMA session, Will Ferrell was asked about the resemblance he shared with the Chili Peppers drummer, and Ferrell seemed to have finally cleared up all the confusion. "A lot of people think that it's me playing for the Red Hot Chili Peppers. But that would be an insult to Chad Smith. The truth of the matter is there is no Will Ferrell. Only Chad Smith."
Surprisingly though, Ferrell wasn't being serious. In two Instagram videos posted on Funny or Die's account, the topic is once again addressed. First Ferrell says how great it was to reveal his true identity, followed with a response by Smith himself.
