The production of Jimi Hendrix's biopic, All Is By My Side, has not always been a smooth process. Hendrix's family dissaproves of the film, and the film itself received mixed reviews when it premiered in Toronto at the International Film Festival in the Fall.
Nonetheless, the John Ridley directed film will be debuting in the U.S. during this years SXSW, which takes place between March 7-15 in Austin, Texas.
The film, which stars Outkast's Andrè 3000, is set in 1966/67, right before Hendrix released his debut album Are You Experienced?, and reached international stardom. One obvious problem with the film is that Hendrix's estate has not agreed to license any original music for the film.
