Son Lux'sLanterns might be one of 2013's most underrated records. Ryan Lott (aka Son Lux) has developed a unique brand of synth-laden pop rooted in classical music, especially the minimalist tradition, which hits its apex in Lanterns with tracks like "Easy" or "Alternate World." Lott has now released a video for the track "Alternate World."
The video, directed by Truman & Cooper, is a hazy, dark interpretation of the song. The directors told Drowned in Sound, where the video premiered, the following aobut the video:
1) What matters for us are the true emotions. The song is so powerful that we wanted to push the actors to the edge to get a strong relationship, especially in the dark moments. We chose the actors partly because they knew each other for a long time so it was a bit easier for them to be really intense in a short amount of time.

In other Son Lux news, 2014 Grammy-winner Lorde didn't miss out on Lanterns, as she showed when she covered Son Lux's "Easy" live earlier this week. Watch that here. Watch the video for "Alternate World" below.
