Warpaint, who are relasing their self-titled LP today, have released the trailer for a Chris Cunningham-directed documentary about the recording of this album. Cunningham, a notable music video director, has worked with Aphex Twin, Björk, Madonna, and created the "Rubber Johnny" short film with Aphex Twin, among many other projects previously.
Cunningham — who is married to Warpaint bassist Jenny Lee Lindberg — pieced the film together from over two years over footage and still photographs. According to the press release Cunningham has also reimagined the album, creating alternate versions of the songs to soundtrack the film.
There is no release date set for the documentary at the moment. Warpaint's self-titled LP is released today via Rough Trade Records.
