In 2011, Manchester band WU LYF seemed that they could do no wrong. Despite deleting their Wikipedia page and declining to do interviews, their debut album, Go Tell Fire To The Mountain, was loved by critics and fans alike. A year later though, the band surprisingly called it quits, finishing as criptically as they had started.
Fastforward to 2014, and Tom McClung, the bass player and backing vocalist of WU LYF, has released his first offical single, titled "A Selfish Man." McClung does away with the organ, echoing drums and metaphorical lyrics that were used by WU LYF to create a more conventional indie song. With a crisp guitar and upbeat drum machine, McClung sings about moving on, a theme that seems to be fitting for his career at the moment.
