Back in September we were excited to premiere Ryan Evans' Yurei. One of the stand-out tracks on the EP was "Our Pain" which marked a distinct evolution in the Philadelphia artist's sound. His earlier work found him working with artists like Caz Greez, Bolo Nef, Pepperboy, and while Evans still does hip-hop production, Yurei served as a distinct message - Ryan Evans is a stand-alone artist.
Evans has jokingly referred to his progressive sound as “Cry Dance," and while that sounds funny, it’s actually on point. His unique blend of hip-hop and UK garage intermixed with his very particular taste for eerie, faerie like vocal samples results in an explosion of polarizing emotions, which as a listener, is both exciting and frustrating in the best of ways. As an artist, however, it's an accomplishment - the sound is undeniably Evans'.
It's now our pleasure to premiere the music video for "Our Pain," directed by Ryan himself. If you’ve followed the budding career of @REOTB you can tell simply from his cover art (which he also creates in-house) that he has a unique aesthetic. This video takes his vision a step further, compiling vintage found footage (everything from beauty queens to burning men) for a subtly disturbing experience.
Watch below and stay tuned for the video’s final revealing moments…
RYAN EVANS - RED ROOM

For RedRoom, Ryan Evans' first official LP, he will be compiling an eclectic roster of the most talented underground rappers and singers.
