Replete with familiar combinations of blunted lyrics and leaned-out production is the latest mixtape from Raider Klan’s Yung Simmie, Basement Musik 2. The tape serves as a sequel to the one of a similar aesthetic—with red-eyed bars and murky beats—released back in January, and follows July’s Shut Up N Vibe. Not to abridge a front to back listen of the entire project with just three songs, but there’s a three-track streak of “Neva Settle For Less,” “7 Gram Blunt,” and “9 To Ya Dome” that seem to house the best Simmie moments, the songs backed by the production of the rapper himself, PurrpDogg, and DJ Smokey, respectively.
