At first listen Egadz's music sort of reminds me of a more complex version of the sounds you would hear on an old school Space Invaders Atari video game. But a closer listen proves that his music is more than that. His self-released album Satellites proves that; a labyrinth of starry-eyed synths, kaleidoscopic glitches, and convulsing percussion that coalesce into a full-length space orchestration.
Today, Egadz has just released a music video to the track "Giant Steps" off Satellites. It's a cinematic work that features a small boy with big dreams, escaping the confines of his neighborhood via a small spaceship. "Plainly, it’s a symbol of ambition," says Erik Nava (Egadz). "Where little can be found in those who wait for something or someone to save them."
The video was directed by Patrick Guera, and all the cool light simulations inside the spaceship was done Egadz himself. Maybe, the Space Invaders comparison is actually fitting. Check out the video and credits below.
