Second only to his ability to surround himself with favored rappers and producing the prerequisite, uniquely sparse beats that accompany them are his music videos. Oddly engrossing like the few that came before, the video for “Erica”—cut from Hot Sugar’s forthcoming Made Man EP and featuring the vocals of rising Chicago R&B talent The GTW—visualizes with the help of life-sized dolls affecting laments of relationship discrepancy. To say the least, it’s an interesting precursor to an EP that is sure to be equally distinctive.
