Vanessa Fernandez, a.k.a. Vandetta, is experimenting. With over a decade of work on her belt, her upcoming EP, simply titled Vandetta, is a complete five songs of vocal samples - that is, every sound you'll hear on this EP, due to drop October 15 via Syndicate, is all her voice. She blends minimalist R&B with downtempo electronic ambience, showcased on the previous single, "Fly."
If you've heard "Fly," you'll notice its floaty vocal melodies interspersed with sultry, enigmatic verses. "Ground Zero," on the other hand, is much more reserved and emotive. It thrives in the darkness, where "Fly" was much higher - obviously playing on the opposites, which is clever to be able to write both with such execution. There's a very nice amount of danceability stuck in this near four-minute track. Check it out directly below.
