Blue Ivy may be the offspring of the most powerful couple in hip-hop, but that's not going to stop a Boston event planning company from continuing to legally use her name.
FOX 25 Boston reports that Beyoncé and Jay-Z have lost their bid to trademark the name Blue Ivy. The event planning company Blue Ivy Events began using the name in 2009, three whole years before little Ms. Blue Ivy Carter was born to a world full of oohs and aahs and exclusive People magazine photos. Bey and Jay wanted Blue Ivy's name all to their (legal) selves, but an October 16 court ruling gave trademark protection to Blue Ivy Events owner Veronica Alexandra. It's all over now, Baby Blue.
