Jack White, the ever-busy Record Store Day Ambassador, announced that he would release a limited Record Store Day exclusive re-issue of Elephant, The White Stripes' fourth and arguably best album. The album will be printed on two colored vinyls - one, red and black; second, white - and, fear not those who won't have money - Elephant will be re-issued later, just not colored - only black. Record Store Day is April 20.
Released on April 1, 2003, the re-issue celebrates the tenth anniversary. The album features the huge single, "Seven Nation Army," while also featuring many live favorites like "Black Math" and "Ball and Biscuit." Refraining from the use of a computer, the album has a large theme of a dying or dead lover (or just the death of love as a symbol). The album has nearly sold two million copies in the US.
