UK electronica trio Darkstar return in February with the followup to 2010's acclaimed North. Migrating from Hyperdub to Warp, Darkstar also shift into a softer register on their sophomore release. News From Nowhere floats subtle melodies above translucent beats, opting for synth-pop in a more psychedelic strain. According to the bandmembers, the new record is "somewhat brighter in mood, but deeper in feeling and intention…it's much more rhythmic and fluid. It moves quicker."
