Does anyone know anything about Terrence Malick's 'Untitled Terrence Malick Project'? This may very well be a movie about Ryan Gosling, Rooney Mara, Christian Bale, Michael Fassbender, and Cate Blanchett hanging out at the Austin City Limits Festival as friends, for all the secrecy attached to the project. What we do know is that Mara (probably/maybe) is playing a musician in some capacity, as she was recently spotted at ACL, miming guitar on stage with the Black Lips.
A reporter for SlashFilm shot the following footage during the Black Lips' set, and described the scene as this:
A small camera crew walked out, following Rooney Mara wearing a guitar. For one song — I don’t know the name of the tune — Mara mimed playing with the Black Lips as Terrence Malick watched nearby and the camera caught her work.
Ryan Gosling was also present, off stage. At last year's ACL, Christian Bale was spotted wandering the festival grounds and later filmed playing bongos with Fleet Foxes. At this point, Malick is only offering bread crumbs, and, as SlashFilm points out, any footage reported on is not guaranteed to be included in the final film (Malick is notorious for cutting entire roles).
However, some of the amateur video recordings floating around of Bale and co. looking almost comically conspicuous are entertaining as stand-alone pieces. Somebody should compress those into a short, tentatively titled Christian Bale: "Where The F**K Am I?"
