Today, charismatic ‘60s rock revivalists Foxygen released the video for “Shuggie,” the first single off their forthcoming LP We Are The 21st Century Ambassadors of Peace & Magic. Directed by Ulysses///Onasis, the slightly absurdist video features several average folks of varying ages interacting with a multi-dimensional black box which becomes whatever they want it to be; the box becomes a TV, a baby or a record depending on the person who has it. The video ends when each character drops the black box, which shatters and becomes some sort of chocolate-colored paste. It’s a fitting visual representation of the single’s unpredictable and inventive song structure.
