Yesterday brought a lot of superhero movie news and rumors. Fans of Captain America, Thor and Guardians of the Galaxy will be excited to hear that all three franchises are boasting new developments.
SlashFilm put together the superhero scoop. First, in casting, Captain America: The Winter Soldier has a few new casting rumors. Fans have been wondering for a couple of weeks about who the new young actress would be who's attached to the film. Rumors are now swirling that she's Mary Elizabeth Winstead, who wowed critics in Smashed, as Agent 13, aka Sharon Carter. Other names rumored to be in the running for the sequel are Josh Holloway (Lost), Kevin Durand (X-Men Origins: Wolverine) and Nikolaj Coster Waldau (Game of Thrones).
Another superhero sequel, Thor: The Dark World, now has an official (but vague) plot synopsis, thanks to Disney. In the new film, Thor (Chris Hemsworth) will fight villain Melekith to keep order in the universe.
Finally, the recently announced adaptation of Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy is rumored to be expanding the roles of three characters (Star-Lord, Gamora and Drax the Destroyer). There's also a belief that the character of Thanos will be a focus.
The superhero trend doesn't seem to be stopping any time soon.
