The infamous Fender Stratocaster that Jimi Hendrix set on fire at the Monterey International Pop Festival in 1967 was sold for $400,000 at an auction in London.
The guitar was sold by James Wright, a manager at Hendrix's label. In an interview with The Metro, Wright said that Hendrix set the guitar on fire to one up Pete Townsehend of The Who. [NME / Complex]
