We got a taste of Davye Hawk's longer-form electro-acoustic stylings a couple of weeks ago with the dense, expansive "Neighborhood Watch." Now, the entirety of the New Jersey songwriter's upcoming third record Grace/Confusion is here for the listening. Each of the record's six tracks is given more room to breathe than any of Memory Tapes's prior work--and the space suits him nicely. Those dance beats and analog synths still chime away at the backbone of the album, but each song grows to new heights and new levels of organic complexity.
