In as little as four months the K-pop King has surpassed Justin Bieber's "Baby" on YouTube garnering over 800,000,000 million hits (as I am writing this the video is currently at 806,283,968 hits) and is now the most viewed video on the online video channel. PSY's "Gangnam Style" started out as something of a viral video in July hitting up all of Asia and slowly creeping its way through the oceans and into the United States. Little pockets kept igniting the flame for something that eventually would blow up.
Since the inception of his global stardom, PSY has performed at the American Music Awards, the MTV Video Music Awards, The Today Show, Jimmy Kimmel and most recently Jay Leno. He's achieved awards all over the world, broken the record for most liked video on YouTube and was sitting on #2 on the U.S. Billboard "Hot One Hundred" chart for a bit. It makes perfectly sense that the video's rise in popularity has not slowed down at all. And now with the new milestone, he just may be the first musical artist on YouTube to hit 1,000,000,000 (that’s one billion) views.
And you're one of the oddities whom have not seen the video, watch it below:
