Today, Pitchfork released two videos of a recent live session with Australian psychedelic pop group Tame Impala. Drummer/keyboardist Jay Watson joined frontman and primary songwriter Kevin Parker for stripped down versions of “Feels Like We Only Go Backwards,” off of their latest album Lonerism and “It Is Not Meant To Be” off of 2010’s Innerspeaker. Although limited to a DG-20 digital guitar and a keyboard, the duo employ their sparse instrumentation precisely, layering thick, sustained synth under Parker’s reverb-ed vocals and bizarre digital guitar tones. Also featured in the video is most of Watson’s chest.
