Brad Bird, one of the presumed frontrunners for the Star Wars: Episode VII director gig (and a fan favorite for it, too) has tweeted several times that no, he's not directing the new Star Wars. Really. Nope. Not doing it. Don't ask again.
Bird, who has directed hits for Disney and others like Ratatouille and The Incredibles, confirmed yesterday that he's not taking the job. Instead, he'll be directing another sci-fi film for Disney, working title 1952. Here's one of his tweets:
