Andrew W.K.'s appetite for weirdness and spectacle might just be satisfied with this next project--David Blaine's three-day interactive electrocution engagement, Electrified. (Yep.)
According to the website for the event, Blaine will spend three days and three nights strapped to a seven-orb Tesla Coil, while audiences around the world get to control the levels of electricity. Just to add an extra twist, the "endurance artist" is also giving up food and sleep (don't want to make the possibility of surviving unscathed too realistic).
Andrew W.K.'s performance will likely be the climax of the three-day event (unless Blaine dies), as his role will be to send out a million volts of electricity via a "supercharged" keyboard attached to one of the orbs. Additionally, he'll bring new meaning to the expression "face melt" if, in fact, Blaine's face melts due to being electrocuted.
Andrew has this to say about his involvement (posted on his website): "This is absolutely a once in a lifetime musical experience and probably the most dangerous musical instrument ever created! I'm absolutely electrified and terrified by the opportunity to play a keyboard solo with so much energy, and to use this incredibly powerful device to send a musical surge through David's brain!"
The event will stream live on YouTube, starting Oct. 5. Andrew's keyboard solo is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 7, 7:30 p.m. EST.
