The wizard of soul is back. And this time around Jamie Lidell will be refreshing himself with something wilder than the previous efforts. Although his soul seeking was loved from evolution of Multiply and all the way to the somber Compass, it was about that time mister Lidell found his path heading towards the future once again. And the future is looking mighty bright.
His new single "What A Shame" combines the infatuation Lidell has taken with his incredible vocals and the experimental electronic dance music that he has been known to tinker with in his laboratory. The production kicks beats and noise all over the place but still allows his voice to emotively belt out. If this is representative of where the new album is heading, it's an exciting prospect.
The new track will be featured on his upcoming sixth album properly titled Jamie Lidell. It'll drop February 19, 2012 via Warp Records.
