Long-time Wale fans, you might just be getting your hero back. It's no secret that the D.C. rapper, once the sprightly wordplay wizard cherished for cuts like "W.A.L.E.D.A.N.C.E.," morphed into a shorter, slimmer (but no less "hundred on the dash"-boasting) version of Rick Ross upon joining his Maybach Music crew, but the MC has been hinting at a return to his roots of late.
"I'm very excited about the music, beacuse it's very reminiscent of my earlier work with Mark Ronson and things of that nature," he said of his upcoming third studio album. But that isn't the only project Mr. Folarin has in store for us: Yesterday he announced a new mixtape, Folarin, which will release on Dec. 24—and we all know how much better a Wale mixtape is than a Wale album. Just take Folarin's soulful first sample, "Freedom of Speech."
Thank yall for the patience .... limelinx.com/dejycdj clark kent x Wale #folarin dec 24th
