The last time Odd Future MC Hodgy Beats and production wunderkid Thelonious Martin collaborated, for January's "BKLYN," Hodgy closed out the song saying "I don't really fuck with many producers and shit... but this motherfucker work hard right here"; the highest praise from a notoriously selective artist.
Toward the end of this summer, the two linked up once again for another supremely smooth listen. "Break Ya Neck" only clocks in at 57 seconds, but Theo makes sure to pack in a muscular drum loop and gentle plucks to set Hodgy up for another dexterous lyrical showcase. These guys need to work on a full-length. Stat.
You can claim your copy of the track and watch a mini-documentary on it below, in which Hodgy also speaks on his own sound, his desire to branch out and still not feeling famous. [Ruby Hornet]
