
Jason Lytle's new solo record may span tall mountains and vast deserts, but its songs sound equally at home performed in a quiet, cluttered music library. The former Grandaddy frontman is the latest artist to serenade NPR's tiny desk for All Songs Considered. Armed only with an antique drum-spouting Korg and a beautiful acoustic guitar, Lytle takes on Dept of Disappearance highlights "Willow Wand" and "Get Up and Go," as well as heartbreaking Sophtware Slump classic "Jed the Humanoid." The setting might be claustrophobic, but the songs ring big, clear and true. Watch below:
