What's the average budget for a music video these days? Anyone? Well, whatever it is, it can't come close to topping the thriftiness of Lushlife's new visual piece, which was produced on $80, a hot glue gun and a shit load of cardboard (like all the best music videos are).
For "Magnolia," a charming standout from his Plateau Vision LP, the Philadelphia MC partners with directing duo LAMAR+NIK to bring a whole new level of inventiveness to the lyric video theme, capturing every dexterous line in cardboard form, while going about his daily business like cardboard words aren't replacing peoples' heads.
If this doesn't make you want to pick up a copy of Plateau Vision right now (and right here on Western Vinyl), not even Hype Williams has a shot (yeah, you can count that pun).
