After more than two decades in the music scene, legendary guitarist Johnny Marr is getting ready to release his first solo album. The Smiths member recently announced plans to release a solo debut entitled The Messenger early next year.
Marr — who previously collaborated with the likes of Talking Heads, Pet Shop Boys, the The, the Cribs and Modest Mouse — recorded the 12-song LP in Manchester and Berlin earlier this year. Mastered at London’s Abbey Road Studios, The Messenger is slated to hit stores Feb. 26 via Sire/ADA.
