One huge name after another, the cast list strengthens for Wes Anderson's forthcoming "Euro film," The Grand Budapest Hotel. Much like the rest of Anderson's entire filmography, his newest effort is already on track to have a star-studded cast with confirmed players like Jason Schwartzman, Angela Lansbury, Jude Law, Ralph Fiennes and of course the Wes Anderson staple, Bill Murray.
A new name has recently been confirmed; Dr. Ian Malcolm, aka Jeff Goldblum, who played the suave and sophisticated Alistair Hennessey in Anderson's 2004 gem The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou.
No word yet as to what Goldblum's role will be but working on The Grand Budapest Hotel will certainly be part of a stressful schedule for Goldblum. In a recent interview, he stated the following:
"I do a couple of movies the day after I finish this. I go off to Paris to do this movie that Roger Michell is directing ['Le Weekend'] who I worked with in 'Morning Glory,' who did 'Notting Hill,' and a couple independent movies that I've seen, 'Venus' with Peter O'Toole…," he told KPCC about this forthcoming plans. "Then I come back and I play with my jazz band here, the Mildred Snitzer Orchestra, we have a gig at Crustacean on New Year's Eve, please come you're heartily invited to that. I'm a pianist I sing a little bit and I've got great musicians who play with me, so we're going to play that and then I go off and I doWes Anderson's next movie 'The Grand Budapest Hotel' in Germany in January."
Hopefully Goldblum will be joined by more high-caliber actors that are currently only rumored such as Adrien Brody, Willem Dafoe and recent Moonrise Kingdom actor and first time Anderson collaborator, Edward Norton.
