Watch Louis C.K. Play Abraham Lincoln In The Style of 'Louie' On 'SNL'

Despite the recent devastation of Hurricane Sandy, Saturday Night Live went on last night as normal with host Louis C.K. There were certainly a few references to the storm, such as the opening spoof of NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg's sign language interpreter, as well as C.K.'s monologue. The comedian performed it as a standup set, mic and all, and discussed how much power New Yorkers have been using since their electricity was restored. He mentioned putting the air conditioning and heat on and letting them fight.

Perhaps the funniest sketch of the night, however, at least for fans of C.K.'s FX comedy Louie, was a short in which C.K. played President Abraham Lincoln in the style of his onscreen persona. The opening credits for Lincoln mimic the style of the Louie opening, and the Lincoln character is just like Louie. He makes awkward conversation with a recently emancipated slave (Kenan Thompson) at a bar, performs standup about how he knows he's going to be killed, and argues over theater tickets with his "historically insane" wife (Aidy Bryant).

Watch the video below, then watch the rest of the episode on NBC's website.

Next week, Anne Hathaway hosts the show with musical guest Rihanna. [via THR]
