Watch: A$AP Rocky Talks Hip-Hop Homophobia, Living In Homeless Shelters

There's no denying that A$AP Rocky is one of the most engrossing figures in both hip-hop and fashion right now—so much so that the rapper himself believes he has encouraged a whole new attitude towards homosexuality in the urban community. In a recent interview with HardKnockTV, the Harlem native stated that his popularisation of high end fashion in hip-hop is eradicating its "gay" stigma.

"We made it cool. I kicked down the door for kids that's my age, older and younger, to be able to wear Jeremy Scott sneakers, rips in their jeans and not feel gay," he said. "If you do certain things like snug fashion, high-end fashion, other things that's not really in the criteria of the small state of mind of the urban community, you're 'gay.' Different is 'gay.' Weird is 'gay' where they come from. But they're slowly learning because of a guy named A$AP Rocky."

Rocky delved into other personal issues in the interview, speaking on his time living in homeless shelters with his mom and sister, remembering his late older brother who introduced him to rap and wanting to bridge gaps between different races and cultures. Catch it in full below.
