One day after ousted creator Dan Harmon received a series order on Adult Swim for his new cartoon, the cult comedy Community finally has a season four premiere date. As you undoubtedly know if you're a fan, the season was supposed to debut Oct. 19, but the premiere was pushed back by NBC to focus on marketing their newer programs.
Mark your calendars for Feb. 7, 2013, at 8 p.m., but maybe use pencil, because it's becoming kind of hard to trust anything NBC says with regards to this show. Community will take the place of 30 Rock, which will have finished its shortened final season.
The good news? The show now has a return date, and it'll be back on Thursdays, where it belongs. The bad news? We have to wait until February, if NBC actually keeps their promise this time. Plus, since the season has already started filming, we'll probably have references to the new school year and Halloween just in time for Valentine's Day.
NBC has been making quite a few strange decisions lately. It was recently announced that Thursday night comedy Up All Night will be going on hiatus from December to the spring to change to a multicamera format. This, coupled with the Community fiasco and the recent cancellation of freshman comedy Animal Practice, makes it look like NBC is pulling a Jack Donaghy of 30 Rock and "tanking" itself.
