New York's Khalif Diouf aka Le1f has signed a deal with Terrible Records (co-founded by Grizzly Bear's Chris Taylor) and XL Recordings. After his mixtapes have come garnered a lot of love, he's prepped a brand new EP that will see itself being released digitally and on vinyl. The first taste we get from the EP is titled "Boom" which is follows his glamorous style of rapping.
In an interview with Billboard, Diouf stated:
"I've dreamed of recording for XL since I was like 15 and I'm super excited to be working with all of my Terrible label mates ... I'll be doing the same stuff that I've been doing but on another level. It's an interesting challenge and I like that ... I've been trying to make songs for that record that are really personal and honest and deal with serious issues in an accessible way ... Not political, but sociopolitical."
The track will appear on his Hey EP. His usual cohorts Boody, Harry B, Owwwls, and Matrixxman are all involved in his brand new EP.
Hey EP Tracklisting:
