It's now safe to say that if you are unfamiliar with Psy's "Gangnam Style," you live under a rock. It's the only feasible explanation for not hearing the smash hit. But in the famed rapper's home country of Korea, there's a new pop star in town, and her name is Son Ga-In, or "Gain."
The young singer was previously known as a member of a popular K-pop quartet called Brown Eyed Girls, but these days the 25-year-old starlet is focusing on her solo career, releasing her sophomore album, Talk About S, on October 5. Billboard, which has begun to implement K-pop into its tracking system, put her peak at No. 2, but her single "Bloom," has topped all the real-time ranking charts in Korea. This phenomena is known as an "All Kill" among hardcore K-pop enthusiasts, and it's exactly how "Gangnam Style" started too. Could Psy's reign be challenged? Only time will tell. [SPIN]
