Sunn O))) and Ulver have collaborated on a three-track, 35-minute album that spans from trance-inducing guitar and string overtures with trumpet fanfares to dark washes of distortion played at a glacial pace. Though you, surprisingly, won't find the volume-15, heavier than a mountain passages that has come to define much of what Sunn O)))'s sound is about. It's a surprising and rewarding listen.
