Last year, Universal Music Enterprises (UMe) began a cross label campaign focused on re-releasing and re-packaging some of hip hop's most defining albums. The collaboration involved some of the most influential labels of the 90s era, including Def Jam, Priority, Interscope, and Virgin Records. The project began with re-releases some of the most famous Priority Records titles such as Eazy-E's Eazy-Duz-It.
Now, as the campaign continues in 2014, UMe has announced the next batch of "genre defining" albums will include Eminem's first album The Slim Shady LP, 50 Cent's Get Rich or Die Trying, and Kanye West's initial foray into singing/auto-tuning, 808s and Heartbreak.
