Don't let the smiling faces of Girl Band glowing in the magic hour fool you; their music is nothing like the happy, golden ambience captured by a mechanical lens. Couple of weeks ago, the Dublin quartet released creme de la noise track, "Lawman"(available as a free download via Bandcamp below). Now you can watch the boys playing in an abyss of darkness with retro CRT effect to rival their densecabre of ominous clamor. But this is not shitgaze wearing a goth-punk revival; but a brave new sonic evolution.
