Kevin Morby has been touring with a fellow transplant to Los Angeles, Cate Le Bon, since early December in support of his solo debut LP, Harlem River. The Kansas City native has already established his career as the singer/guitarist for Woods and the bassist for The Babies. But Morby's inner storyteller truly shines via the eight songs dedicated to his former residence, NYC.
Today, Morby debuts the video for the bluesy title track. Directed by Adarsha Benjamin, the nine-minute tune trims down to a seven-minute piece for the lo-fi filmic sequence. Enjoy the hypnotic "Harlem River" below. And if you have the chance, please go see Morby live, where the inherent restraint of a recorded material breathes with an unexpected spontaneity.
