Ark, the debut album from Sam Howard (aka Halls), is one of the chilliest rumination to forge from a musician just embarking on his adulthood. A year and couple months later, the London-based musician will add Love To Give to his discography, set for release on February 17 via No Pain In Pop.
In December 2013, the cinematic first single, "Forelsket" (Norwegian/Danish for the "honeymoon" phase of love, depending on how you translate it), debuted with a stark black and white performance-based video from the new album. Earlier this week, Halls released another track from the forthcoming record. "Waves" undulates with Howard's delicate and ghostly vocals heaving in a candle-lit universe of infinite reverb. Judging by these two pieces, the young waifish man has shed some of his reticence and electronic dependency of Ark to explore the world outside on Love To Give.
