It's the news nearly everyone has been waiting for. With Outkast heading into the 20th anniversary of their debut album Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik and a 40 tour date in tow, Andre 3000 and Big Boi are looking to work on a new album together. But before then, the Atlanta natives will be coming out with their own albums respectively before making a new Outkast album.
This should be no surprise as the news comes shortly after the announcement of their headlining dates at Coachella, Governor's Ball, and other festivals. Revolt TV had the opportunity to speak with one of their longtime producers Mr. DJ, who gave word that the duo have separately stopped by Stankonia Studios to record some new material.
Mr. DJ also believes that the upcoming tour will serve as the glue to bring the two back together in a studio. “I get the feeling that the energy and camaraderie from the tour will bring everything full circle,” Mr. DJ said to Revolt. “We may make it back in for an album following that.”
