Arcade Fire, Karen O, & Pharrell Nominated For Oscars

This morning the nominees for the 2014 Academy Awards were announced. Needless to say, the Oscars are perhaps the biggest night in all of film, but in recent years with huge artists winning for Best Original Song (from Eminem, to Adele, or Three 6 Mafia to Melissa Etheridge) it's been becoming an increasingly bigger night for music.

This year will be no exception, as Karen O's "The Moon Song" from Her (written by director Spike Jonze) is nominated for Best Original Song, up against Pharrell's "Happy" from Despicable Me 2. Also nominated are U2's "Ordinary Love" from Mandela, and "Let It Go," the wildly popular ballad from Disney's wildly popular Frozen.

In the Best Original Score catergory, Arcade Fire and Owen Pallett have been nominated for their work on Spike Jonze's Her. Her score will face off against the music of The Book Thief, Gravity, Philomena, and Saving Mr. Banks.

You can check out the full list of nominees here, and listen to Karen O's "The Moon Song" and Pharrell's "Happy" below. Tune into the Academy Awards on March 3rd to see who takes home the gold.
