Nils Frahm plays the piano like a man who can't escape his destiny. The Berlin-based composer/producer commands the ivories and the ebonies like a conductor of an orchestra, reciting a story with all the arcs, yet with an intimate pensiveness. One can only conclude that Nils is only fulfilling his fate. Frahm's latest LP, Spaces, has racked up envious amounts of critical plaudits. In keeping with the improvisational spirit of the album, the visual for "Says" was shot live without any post work. Created by experimental video artist Romain Assénat and Ana Silva with the support of Atelier Graphoui, the inks on glass, propelled by an optical feedback device, impeccably conveys the abstract passion of "Says". But to truly experience Frahm's genius, you must catch him live. Check the tour dates below to see if you'll be lucky in rapture.
Spaces is available on Erased Tapes
